I am not very much familiar with iMAC because I am just using it from about two months. So, I don’t have much idea about it. Last night I had downloaded yahoo messenger on my iMAC system. But in the morning when I tried to install it I get an error message as “file .dmg” failed to mount due to Error 95 No Mountable File System.
I am not experienced user of MAC so I don’t have much knowledge about dmg file. I don’t have any idea how this error can be fixed. If any body have any idea about it then please help me to get rid of this error.

First of all let me tell you about dmg files. These files are like real disks which can be mounted as hard drive volumes. The file format serves the file distribution purpose as well as security functions by compressing the file and providing password protection. Dmg files can be easily created by MAC OS X which are used to access data after mounting.
Sometimes it happens that dmg files fails to mount and you get Error 95 No Mountable File System error message. After the occurrence of error you are unable to access the file and its data. I think same has happened with you. But you don’t get so much panic because the error can be easily fixed.
Actually this error appears when OS doesn’t get the proper format of file system to mount the image. It might happen when the file system have becomes corrupted or missing. You can repair the corruption by using disk utility tool and hence fix the error.
